American Idol finalist Jermaine Jones is out of the competition.
According to Jones, he will no longer be competing in the singing competition. Tuesday night Jones tweeted:
“Awww I will no longer b on the show.”
The tweet, as well as Jones’ official Idol Twitter account were deleted later that night. TMZ has learned that the reason for his dismissal is due to the fact that he was arrested twice last year and has outstanding warrants.
Producers discovered on Tuesday that Jones had lied about his criminal history and that made them confront him on camera Tuesday. It is being reported that one of the incidents involved violence, which was extremely troubling to the producers. He also lied to cops by giving them fake names both times he was arrested.
Idol sources told TMZ that Jones will appear on the show tonight before he is sent home.
Jones had also told producers that his father abandoned him 10 years ago, however his dad called TMZ and told them that they see each other regularly. Jermaine began tweeting that he never told the producers about his dad, which lead the producers to be suspicious of him, looking deeper into his past, which ultimately led to the findings of his criminal history.
