The latest music video release from Florence + The Machine features the use of dancing ballerinas and bright, vibrant colors.
“Spectrum” is the sixth music video we have seen from Florence and the band in the past year, but it is definitely the most visually appealing one yet! The visuals to this video are very in tune to the lyrics of the song (“Say my name, and every color illuminates”).
The John Byrne directed music video opens with an image of Florence Welch seated on a throne next to a huge chandelier. When the song reaches the hook, there is the introduction of ballerinas twirling around in tune with the song. Eventually the dancers hold Florence up high, as a sign of respect to their queen.
Throughout the video Florence tries a number of different outfits, including a sparkling gold bodysuit with a plunging V line, as well as a backless sequined gown.
The one thing that stands out about this whole video is the lighting. There is definitely a huge visual appeal to the video. Florence said in behind-the-scenes footage:
“I grew up being obsessed with musicals. What we’re kind of making here is a visual controlled chaos. It’s big and colorful.”
Florence described the video perfectly! Check it out after the jump!
