Jon Bon Jovi Helps Open Low-Income Housing in Philly

Jon Bon Jovi

Jon Bon Jovi helped open a housing development for low-income residents and the formerly homeless on Tuesday in Philadelphia.

The 55-unit JBL Soul Homes opened in the Francisville neighborhood after about 18 months of construction. Bon Jovi’s Soul Foundation provided the lead gift  for the $16.6 million complex, which he hopes will offer tenants the support they need to get back on their feet.

Bon Jovi said in an interview before the official ceremony:

“This is not a handout, it’s just a hand up. This opportunity for them is special and it’s not easy to come by.”

The four-story building also includes retail and office space. Residents will receive social services from Project HOME, a non-profit dedicated to ending homelessness in Philadelphia.

Jon Bon Jovi Walks Fan Down the Aisle at Her Las Vegas Wedding

bonjoviwedding

Jon Bon Jovi surprised one of his biggest fans on Saturday, showing up to her Las Vegas wedding and walking her down the aisle!

The rocker surprised super fan Branka Delic at the Graceland Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. Delic started an online petition in August and rallied support from the media trying to get Bon Jovi to walk her down the aisle on her special day, before saying “I do” to Gonzalo Cladera. She hadn’t heard back from him before the wedding day, but the rock star decided to surprise her instead!

Jon married his wife at that very same chapel back in 1989 so he was definitely happy to be walking Branka down that very same aisle his wife walked down. He tweeted a picture of himself and Branka, writing:

“Congratulations @branksd! May you & Gonzalo have a lifetime of happiness, love & memories together – ALWAYS!”

Afterwards, Braka tweeted:

“thanks, Jon. You’re an amazing human being for taking the time with us. See you in Sydney #championbloke.”

Following the wedding, Bon Jovi played a show at the MGM Grand Arena.

Report: Richie Sambora Was Fired From Bon Jovi

richiesambora

Bon Jovi has reportedly fired lead guitarist Richie Sambora from the band’s current tour.

According to RumorFix.com, Sambora’s departure is all about money. Sources say that Sambora was raking in $2 million a month and 20 percent of profits from the tour, whereas fill-in guitarist Phillip “Phil X” Xenidis was earning far less ($10,000 a month) on the tour.

Sambora will still be collecting royalties and profits from merchandise, but according to a source he wants to get back on stage.

Sambora took a break from the group in the spring citing a “personal matter,” but has since remained quiet about his departure and has been posting many pictures of himself and his daughter spending time together. He has also been talking a lot about his most recent solo album, Aftermath of the Lowdown.

Earlier this month Sambora shared a new song, “Come Back as Me,” which was rumored to have been about Bon Jovi. Sambora took to Twitter to dispel those rumors saying “this has nothin’ to do with Jon.”

A rep for Bon Jovi has yet to comment on the Sambora rumors.

Jon Bon Jovi Celebrates New Jersey’s New Overdose Law

jonbonjovi

A few months after Jon Bon Jovi’s daughter survived a drug overdose, the singer teamed up with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie for the signing of a law to encourage reporting of overdoses so victims don’t end up dead.

Before accompanying the governor on a visit to patients at a drug rehabilitation center, Bon Jovi said:

“I hope that Governor Christie’s actions here will cause other states to stand up and pay attention and also to follow in his footsteps.”

The New Jersey law, which was signed on Thursday, seeks to assure timely treatment for overdose victims by encouraging people to seek help without fear that they will be arrested for drug possession.

Bon Jovi’s daughter overdosed in a dorm at her college in upstate New York last year. Charges were dropped against her and another student under that state’s good Samaritan overdose reporting law.

There are also two entertaining spaces, two chef’s kitchens, a private screening room with a projection room and a master bedroom with arched windows.

The listing says:

“Experience living high above Soho on a quaint cobblestone street in the New Museum Building, a full service, prewar, landmarked condo.”

Richie Sambora Will Not Be Touring with Bon Jovi

bonjovi

Guitarist Richie Sambora will not be touring with Bon Jovi on the current leg of the band’s Because We Can tour.

On their website, the band cited “personal issues” for Sambora’s absence from the tour. The band says that all shows will go on as scheduled, however no other information was given.

Many fans have come out to express their feelings of disappointment, as well as concern on BonJovi.com. Sambora has struggled with substance abuse and has been in rehab several times, so fans are expressing concern if this is the reason why he isn’t touring with the band.

Bon Jovi is slated to begin the tour on Wednesday in Winnipeg, ending on April 25 in San Jose, California.

We hope everything is okay with Richie Sambora!

Bon Jovi Announces 2013 Tour with Reasonable Prices

Bon Jovi’s Because We Can Tour will kick off in February and they are setting their ticket prices to appeal to all of their fans!

The Because We Can Tour will have seven different price ranges, including about 1,000 tickets being sold at $19.50 before service charges in every city!

The tour begins February 9 in Connecticut and will play mostly arenas in North America, but there will be a few stadium shows including two nights at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, the band’s home state.

Tickets will go on sale in select markets beginning November 30. The tour will debut new songs from the band off their upcoming spring release, What About Now.

Jon Bon Jovi believes it is very important to offer multi-tiered pricing, especially in today’s economy. AEG Live CEO, Randy Phillips, told Billboard:

“Jon’s theory is there should be something for everybody. He wants everybody to have the opportunity to buy tickets.”
