It was confirmed on Sunday that Grammy Award winning singer Bruno Mars will be the headlining performer for February’s Super Bowl Half Time show!
Mars and his band, The Hooligans, were introduced to football fans everywhere at the FOX NFL Sunday broadcast, where he was live in Times Square to kick off the first full week on professional football. Mars said:
“It’s just an honor. We just got off tour so being able to come to New York City and announce this right now is incredible. We’re celebrating, we’re celebrating for sure.”
Last year’s Super Bowl half time show featured Beyoncé and brought in more than 110.5 million viewers.
Super Bowl XLVIII will be held on February 2 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. Every half time show performer brings out some special guests so when Mars was asked if he would be bringing along anyone with him to the stage he said:
“It’s five months from now, so I got a couple of phone calls to make.”
Bruno Mars is a 14 time Grammy nominee and has sold more than 115 million singles worldwide.
