Atlanta man, Jeffrey Simon Hubbard, has pleaded not guilty to charges in the boating collision death of Usher’s 11-year-old stepson.
The Times of Gainesville reports that Hubbard entered a not guilty plea Tuesday to all charges including first-degree homicide by a vessel.
Kile Glover was the stepson of R&B singer Usher and the son of his ex-wife Tameka Raymond.
Authorities say Kile and his father were on vacation at Lake Lanier when Hubbard crashed a personal watercraft into the boy’s raft on July 6. Kile died at a hospital on July 21.
The indictment also names Jordan Shepp, who was tubing with Glover at the time of the accident. She was “seriously disfigured” by the collision, suffering injuries to her scalp and arm.
Hubbard also pleaded not guilty to charges of reckless operation of a vessel, unlawful operation of a personal watercraft, boat traffic violation and serious injury by vessel.
If Hubbard is convicted he faces at least three years in prison.
